Bem vindo, Bien Venido, and Welcome!
My name is Mrs. Stratton and I am the happy wife to my college sweetheart and a new mommy to our 1 year old miracle baby. I have a passion for teaching, singing, and serving in our local church.
My culture growing up has given me a unique perspective that has helped me to relate to my students and with their families. You see I too grew up in a bilingual home. My parents immigrated from Portugal knowing very little English to pursue their American dream. Being bilingual fueled my desire to also learn Spanish and later double major in it while getting my Elementary Education degree at Bloomsburg University, Go Huskies! Soon after being hired as Clearview's ESL teacher I obtained my Master's degree in that same field in order to be even more prepared to meet the growing challenges and needs of my students and their families. I've had the pleasure of working at Hanover Public for almost 12 years now. Growing up I didn't see the benefit of being culturally "different", now I am extremely grateful for my rich experience and the opportunities it has afforded me. I hope to also inspire my students to see and value their home language and cultures for the world is in desperate need of their diverse perspectives and abilities.
Mr. Stratton loves to chronicle everyday events with our little girl. Here's one of his latest videos, ENJOY!
